Jesus Christ Superstar – Bristol Riverside Theatre

This spring Bristol Riverside Theatre opened a new production of Jesus Christ Superstar. It is a spectacular rendition of the famous Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice rock opera. Not only does this show literally rock the house, but it also includes spectacular lighting and a really cool stage set. The production features a live thirteen-piece band and a lot of dancing as well. Directed by Keith Baker, the show recounts the last seven days of Jesus’ life and the tensions between him and Judas Iscariot. Patrick H. Dunn adeptly plays the role of Jesus. Adam Kemmerer plays Judas and really rocks out on the title song. And one of the best parts of the show is Ciji Prosser’s (Mary Magdalene) performance of the well-known song, “I Don’t Know How to Love Him.”  After you see it, you won’t be able to get the song Jesus Christ Superstar out of your head. It really is that catchy. Jesus Christ Superstar runs through April 16.
